Anne Hathaway’s Cottage was a beautiful thatch, unfortunately it had rather a lot of stairs! Although the wheels prohibited me from entering the house, a very nice woman sat outside in the wonderful sunshine and gave a quick history of the building so I didn’t feel too left out. All the gardens and woodlands were very pretty and I even managed to find a small group of mushrooms pushing their way through the chip bark.
At Mary Arden’s farm there was a very nice, funny falconer who introduced us to a few of his birds. One of them was a lovely and rather cheeky barn owl who insisted on following him around to get food rather than fly!
