Nic's Story

Nic Hopkins lives in Worthing with her Canine Partner, Flora. She turned to art after leaving a PhD in Theoretical Physics for health reasons. She finds that being creative helps her to manage her pain and health issues.

In November 2018, Nic set up Purple Iris and the not-for-profit was awarded a National Lottery Grant in 2019. Purple Iris alters, designs and creates accessible clothing and accessories for people with disabilities. Purple Iris also runs accessible sewing sessions to share skills and enable people with disabilities to make their own alterations.

Nic is working towards a Creative Arts degree with the OCA by studying part-time and you can follow her progress on her blog here.
